Every Mojomama performance excites the crowd with their hip shaking grooves and undeniable melodies filling your head and making you want more.

Jessica Rowand - Lead Vocals and Lyrics

Jessica Rowand, originally from the Garden state of New Jersey has had a passion for singing all her life. Being influenced at an early age by the likes of Aretha Franklin, Joni Mitchell and Bonnie Raitt. At the age of 8 years old she took the stage for the first time to sing her rendition of winter wonderland. By High School she joined her first of many bands to come. Early in her career she fronted the all female band London Underground. They immediately took on the club scene of New York City and New Jersey playing from Asbury Park to the Wetlands.
In the early 90’s Jessica decided to take her talents west as she relocated herself to Boulder Colorado. She stepped into the local scene recording with local musicians and performing part time with many local favorite groups from Lord of word to Second Sound . In 2000 Jessica contributed her smooth vocals to local recording artist “Soul Wave”, a side project of United Dope Front’s Ben Senterfit.
Jessica sang with local high-energy dance funk cover band, Funkiphino, for three years, where she established herself on the local scene as one of the definitive local Divas singing the songs of Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross and other soul legends. Tired of singing other people’s music, Jessica starting writing original songs with Bassist Paul Rogalski and Mojo Mama was born. Combining Funk, Rock and Soul influences they began the process of finding an original sound. The band is playing live, receiving local radio airplay and getting very positive feedback. They have completed 2 cds original, and all we can say is we hope the world is ready

Paul Rogalski - Bassist

Paul Rogalski from Boston Massachusetts graduated Berklee College of Music in the early 90’s with a Professional Music Diploma. Shortly thereafter Paul left the rat race of the East Coast to find residence in Boulder Colorado.
Once arriving in Colorado, Paul found a very welcoming music scene. Local singer Nina Storey asked Paul to join and collaborate with her talents. They released a live CD, “Nina Storey Band BOOTLEG” and played everywhere from Boulder to the L.A. House of Blues.
Paul formed local band, Coykindred, a funk rock band fronted by local diva Lauren Monroe. Within six months they composed and recorded a strong self-titled CD, which received powerful reviews on the local scene. Finally in 2002, Paul started writing music with Jessica Rowand and there came the birth of Mojomama. Settling into his own groove and creativity makes for a happy bass player. Paul also teaches electric bass full time and offers all of these experiences he has embraced over the years to the next wave of future bassists

Bob Murnahan - Guitar

Bob Murnahan,on electric guitar
I attended The Ohio State University where I majored in jazz studies and also received two great years of classical guitar instruction. As a member of the OSU Jazz Ensemble I had an opportunity to tour Europe which included gigs at The North Sea and Montreaux Jazz festivals.

Some of my favorite guitarists and influences include Larry Carlton, Robben Ford, Pat Metheny, Pat Martino, Chet Atkins, Albert Lee and Eddie Van Halen. This is definitely the short list. There are many others. I am a big fan of good guitar, regardless of the style.

Steve Saviano - Drums

Steve comes from Los Angeles and brings a tight groove and modern chops to Mojomama.
He has a family background in music and continues to contribute and explore music expression through his drumming.
We're excited to have him as part of the Mojo.
